Week 5- Final Images

For the final presentation i used 3d Cad for still and video images. Overall I was happy with the quality of 3d animation that i achieved in such a short time frame with very little knowledge.

Week 4- Enviromental Considerations

Below are two scanned pages of environmental considerations that we as a group have considered in our design process. As we have chosen a climate of Hot Humid (tropical), we think our design must incorporate the following.

Cross Ventilation
Shade
Passive Solar Gain
Passive South Light Gain
Low E-Glass
Correct Orientation
Transportability
Water Storage/Capture

Research

In my research i found a few rather interesting images on modular architecture. Although these images provide quite good spatial qualities, I'm still struggling with the concepts of modular/portable, sustainable and mostly a learning environment. My interpretation of a learning environment for our intended audience( primary school) is a rather large space for teaching purposes, private teachers quarters, bag/book storage and a open space for other activities. I'm struggling at this point to get my head around a building that is portable/relocatable and provides a appropriate teaching space. Sure, we could design a box that folds out, slides and is very portable and sustainable, but our group (and I) think that our design MUST provide a learning space....We are still searching for the 'one'....
